What is Yoga?

Blending movement and stillness for wellbeing has intrigued Lori Gholson, RYT since her first exposure to yoga in 1977. She came to see the benefit of yoga in all aspects of life – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Recognizing this power of practice was pivotal in her life and led to an in-depth study of yoga and eventually to teaching.

Lori approaches her teaching with heartfelt dedication – combining compassion and levity with fine tuned instruction that taps into her thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Encouraging each student to seek and celebrate their inner richness, Lori sees each yoga asana (pose) as a gift – given to  help refine our skills of observation, reflection and action. She studies regularly with Senior Iyengar Teacher, Patricia Walden.

“The most important aspect of being on a spiritual path may be to just keep moving.”

– Pema Chodron

"It's also helpful to realize that this body that we have, this very body that's sitting here right now in this room, this very body that perhaps aches, and this mind that we have at this very moment, are exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake and fully alive."

– Pema Chodron
